COA believes as Ontarians begin to realize the Tax Grab HST will have on their financial budget.  Condo Owners will see their Corporations and the frustrations of Board of Directors doing their best to escape major impacts on maintenance fee increases as a result of the HST increases on Operating Expenses.  Some Condos have already reported close to 20% and up to 34% increases on maintenance fees.  In BC voters are forcing a referendum on the new HST and organizers have collected 400,000 signatures.  200,000 signatures were collected in Ontario but since Ontario does not have a referendum legislation, the HST is a done deal.  Tory Leader Tim Hudak has said he won't un-blend the taxes but he could roll back the combined taxes a point or two.  The reality of it all is that his federal Conservative counterparts pushed for harmonization in the first place.
