Welcome to COA Toronto Chapter

PARKDALE HIGH PARK DISTRICT

COA TORONTO  - PARKDALE DISTRICT   is one of the local Wards of the Toronto Chapter of COA - Condo Owners Association representing ALL Condo Owners throughout Ontario.  Various  parts of each City and County in the Province are represented with local district.

COA is please to announce that the Parkdale-High Park COA District has been formed with the assistance of MPP Cheri DiNovo.

'There are more condos going up in our riding and just about all of them have had some issues come up that they have had to deal with on their own," said DiNovo, who has been meeting with individual condo boards throughout the riding.  "Joining COA would give them a voice".   On Feb 3, 2011, Cheri DiNovo facilitated a meeting for this new COA district with guest speaker, COA Founder-President Linda Pinizzotto and she invited Condo Owners from her riding.

There is a Condo Owners Association of Ontario, so the structure is already in place. Cheri was supporting COA to get the ball rolling in the Parkdale-High Park district.

MPP Cheri DiNovo says   "No to HST" .

COA (Condo Owners Association) represents Condo Owners by providing a cohesive unit voice and works with all levels of government.  The HST had a huge negative effect on Condo Owners by increasing Condo Corporation's Operating Budgets by 8% and in turn increasing all Condo Owners maintenance fees.

Condo Owners Association Ontario is a registered non-profit volunteer organization with the Ontario Government and is at the helm of the Association.  The Association is comprised of City Chapters across the Province; example the Toronto Chapter.  Each of these Chapters includes Local Districts that are parallel to the Political Provincial Ridings in that Municipality.  This structure will allow the Local District to have the support of their local Counsellor, MPP and MP for each of these Ridings.

Founding of COA

Condo Owners Association

The Condo Owners Association was founded in 2009The orginal Condo Owners Association was founded in April 2009 however it was limited to the Trinity Spadina district within the City of Toronto.   First COA President & Chair, Linda Pinizzotto,  realized the necessity to create and establish a Condo Owners Association Province-wide and by late 2009 so she founded COA Ontario and recently COA Toronto was launched.  Creating the structure of the Association was a huge challenge.   Condo Owners must have a voice to represent them with all levels of Government.  COA stands alone within the Province of Ontario as an Association for Condo Owners; registration is made through their Condo Corporation.  The First Board of Directors have engaged in press conferences, correspondence with City Officials, news articles, rallies and meetings of key issues.  They have formed a mission statement, mandates and objectives, by-laws, membership drive, directories and database, financial reports and accounts.  Their hard work, dedication and accomplishments has opened doors for COA Ontario to stands alone within the Province of Ontario as an Association for Condo Owners through their Condo Corporations.
